The Opening Line

Save the dates that startthe story early.

A save the date card is your wedding's opening line — the first printed hint of what's coming. StationeryWalaa designs save the dates as chapter one of your full suite: the monogram, palette and illustration style debut here, then return on the invitation months later. Guests keep the thread; your wedding keeps its story.

01 · The Craft

Why printed,
why early.

In a scroll of digital messages, a printed card on the fridge door is a daily reminder. Printed save the dates earn a permanence no screen can — pinned to boards, propped on desks, photographed and shared. For weddings where guests must book flights and leave, that daily visibility matters.

Timing matters just as much. For destination weddings and NRI guest lists, save the dates should land six to nine months ahead; for hometown celebrations, four to six. We plan backwards from your wedding date in the very first consultation.

And because your save the date is chapter one of a larger suite, designing it with us means the invitation that follows will rhyme with it — deliberately.

02 · The Craft

Formats beyond
the flat card.

The classic single card, foiled and heavyweight, remains beloved — but save the dates can play. Die-cut shapes that echo your venue's architecture; fan cards that double as keepsakes; luggage-tag save the dates for destination weddings; magnet-backed cards that live on refrigerators for months.

Artwork is hand-illustrated to your story — the city skyline where you met, a caricature of the two of you mid-laugh, the palace gate your baraat will enter. No stock graphics, ever.

Finishes follow the design: hot foil dates, letterpress names, painted edges, vellum wraps and wax-sealed envelopes that make even the announcement feel like an event.

Something we haven't covered? Book a consultation or WhatsApp the studio.

Six to nine months before a destination wedding or when many guests live abroad; four to six months for hometown weddings. We plan the design and production schedule backwards from your ideal mailing date.

Your names, the wedding date or date range, the city or venue, and a line noting the invitation will follow. Websites, dress codes and event details belong on the invitation itself — the save the date's job is anticipation.

That is the entire point of commissioning both from one studio. We design your monogram, palette and illustration language at the save the date stage, then carry it into the invitation, itinerary and day-of pieces.

Individually, after a free consultation — artwork complexity, paper, foil, format and quantity shape each quote. You receive a written custom proposal on WhatsApp rather than a fixed rate card.

Constantly — they are among our most commissioned pieces. Passport, boarding-pass and luggage-tag formats are favourites, and we ship worldwide or direct-mail to international guest lists.

Typically 50 pieces for printed cards, though intimate weddings with smaller lists are welcome to enquire — formats like fans and tags can suit smaller runs.
